Court Hearing – Barrister Representation £295 + VAT
Guilty Pleas on any Magistrates’ Court Summons
If you are concerned about technical issues or would prefer to be represented at Court, the Barrister Representation Service provides a cost effective solution.
Motor Lawyers will prepare your case and then instruct a Barrister who specialises in motoring cases to represent you on the day.
We will discuss the case fully with you (allow at least an hour for this), prepare a detailed statement, advise you of any additional action that needs to be taken to improve any aspects of the case and then instruct Counsel on your behalf. Motor Lawyers will brief Counsel well in advance of the hearing, supplying detailed instructions outlining the pros and cons of your case, the tactics to be adopted and will consider with the Barrister the quality of all documentation/evidence.
Unlike some of our competitors, we do not simply act as a post box for the Barrister.
Motor Lawyers can normally obtain a worthwhile discount on the Barrister’s fees and we will only instruct a Barrister from our approved panel.
Barrister Fees
A Barrister’s fee will be charged in addition to our set fee.
We will negotiate on your behalf and approve same with you prior to instructing the Barrister. Motor Lawyers obtain preferential rates when instructing Barristers.
Whilst their fees will vary according to experience, location and the complexity of the case, for straight forward attendances in the Magistrates’ Court, you should expect a fee from £250 + VAT.
Even in the most complex cases, the fee should not exceed £450 + VAT.
The fee agreed will include presentation of the case, all preparation and reading time on the part of the Barrister, any pre–hearing discussion with you, travel time and waiting time.
As with ourselves, the amount of the fee is agreed in advance.
There are no hidden costs.
